Steam-Fire-Fighting-Machines

After 1900 the manufacture of steam-fire-fighting-machines was an important field of activities of the factory at Bautzen. The self propelled machines were the forerunners of the modern fire-fighting-vehicles. As an example - in only two days such a vehicle run from Bauten 200 km (125 miles)to Berlin including a night rest at Golssen.

The fire fighting exhibition at Basel shows an original from Bautzen. This link includes a lot of technical details to this interesting vehicle.

This engine - build some time around 1905 - had a capacity of 1500 l (396 gallons)water /min. This was top capacity at this time.

A test run - in this time an event for the public, sometimes with accidents because of troubles with horses.
