A new idea - the welded case for the line connector

Each time it was complicated to cast a light-weight case for the line connector because of the nature of welding process. But a light-weight case is important to reduce wear during the coupling operation by reduced dynamic forces.

After successful tests with welded coupler bodies the idea was born to design a light weight welded case for the line connector.

The designers of Waggonbau Bautzen realized the idea after a short time - see below. For this design only the face plate with the centring components is casted.
